Lee Alice H. Pablo, born in Baton Rouge, LA, is a painter and designer with a background in interior architecture. Pablo graduated from Louisiana State University’s College of Art and Design in 2006 and lived in Houston for seven years. She painted this artwork using acrylic on a board that measures two-and-a-half feet high and two feet wide that can be found in Hobby Airport. Here, Pablo plays with the layers of a painting using solid blocks of color. In the foreground, or the layer closest to the viewer, is a brown rectangle that leans from left to right. The background, or the layer furthest from the viewer, is bright blue, like a sky. In the middle ground, or the layers between the foreground and background, is a pillar of vertical rectangles, white and grey, behind a red block. The white of the pillar facing left hints that a light source brightens it and the red block, causing the grey portion of the pillar and the brown block below to be shadowed. Though seemingly simple, Pablo has created a complex artwork of perspective.

Realizó esta obra utilizando acrílico sobre un tablero de dos pies y medio de alto por dos pies de ancho, la cual se encuentra en el Aeropuerto Hobby. Aquí, Pablo juega con las capas de una pintura utilizando bloques sólidos de color. En el primer plano, o la capa más cercana al espectador, hay un rectángulo marrón que se inclina de izquierda a derecha. El fondo, o la capa más alejada del espectador, es de un azul brillante, como un cielo. En el plano medio, o las capas situadas entre el primer plano y el fondo, hay un pilar de rectángulos verticales, blancos, y grises, detrás de un bloque rojo. El blanco del pilar orientado hacia la izquierda sugiere que una fuente de luz lo ilumina a él y al bloque rojo, haciendo que la parte gris del pilar y el bloque marrón situado debajo queden en la sombra. Aunque aparentemente sencilla, Pablo ha creado una compleja obra de arte basada en la perspectiva.
