Kate Balsley is an educator, video artist, screenwriter, and animator based in Atlanta, GA. Her work has been featured with the LA Filmforum, the Anthology Film Archives, the Museum of the Moving Image, and the ICA Boston. Here is one of her digital videos that is one minute and 30 seconds long. The video centers the state of Wisconsin during the autumn season. Balsley applied a digital filter to each individual frame to create a shimmering look that enhances every movement of the trees, wind, and wildlife of the Schlitz Audubon Center of Wisconsin. Although it is exhibited here as a stand-alone piece, the video is also a part of a series that investigates the seasons and the changes to the environment and ecosystem that occur throughout.
