David Montgomery is an animator and film maker whose artworks have been featured at Strange Beauty Film Festival, Montreal Underground Film Festival, Los Angeles Animation Festival, and more. Montgomery uses a unique animation process where he uses a flatbed scanner to create grainy, surrealist images. Montgomery said: “I collect, grow, and scavenge my frames. Subtle differences… between one frame or specimen and the next create hypnotic, pulsing motion… I spend weeks, sometimes months… arranging and correcting thousands of images. My process is just as tedious as any of the more traditional forms of animation.” Here is one of his videos that is two minutes and 26 seconds long that focuses on the seed dispersion method of the erodium cicatarium, or “Stork's Bill.” Scenes show the passage of time as the erodium flower and stem age, spread, sprout, and move in disjointed, mechanical motions. According to Montgomery, this: “is used to mimic human industry. Mechanical arms, grinders, fans, neon lights, and turbines are just a few of the devices this series is meant to reflect.”

Las escenas muestran el paso del tiempo a medida que la flor y el tallo del erodium envejecen, se expanden, germinan, y se mueven con movimientos mecánicos y discontinuos. Según Montgomery, esto: “se utiliza para imitar la industria humana.
