Mississippi-born Houstonian Earlie Hudnall, Jr. often took photos of everyday life in African American communities throughout the American South. His photography has been featured in galleries and museums all around the world, such as: Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond; Kunsthal Rotterdam, Netherlands; Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington; Centro Cultural Borges, Argentina; de Meervaart Cultural Center, Netherlands; and many more. In this image, Hudnall, Jr. centers a newlywed couple post-ceremony. The bride wears a white wedding gown with her veil turned away from her face while the groom wears a white jacket with epaulettes and a bowtie. They match with their white, fancy clothing.
