Peter Hite is best known for making site specific art commissions. Based in Houston, Texas his artwork is found in public, private and corporate collections. His largest project was The River created for the Jacksonville, Florida International Airport. Made of over 300,000 stamps over 250’ long, it portrays a series of five rivers as seen from aerial view.
He is currently working on a large commission for the George Bush International Airport in Houston, Texas and his fourth commission for Stanford University.
He received his BFA at the University of Wisconsin, a Master in Fine Art degree from the University of Arizona in 1993 and fellowship at New York University.
