Project Manager, Ward & Ames Special Events
Background and Experience
I have worked for Ward & Ames Special Events since 2008 as a project manager with special skills in graphic design and conceptual rendering. I have worked with numerous clients on invitation and program design and have created many concept designs and renderings that complement a client's vision for a memorable event.
Before Ward & Ames, I owned and operated Letthead Productions, a full-featured recording studio in West Houston. During this time, I completed dozens of fulllength albums for clients from the hip-hop genre to the gospel genre. I had a unique approach to artist development that included heavy emphasis on visual elements such as the artist's appearance and album artwork. This process continually challenged and honed my sense of style, color and texture as it relates to abstract concepts.
Immediately upon receiving the request for proposal for the 2011 Summer National Senior Games, I was inspired by the games' logo. The logo was simple enough, with the title of the games flanked by sets of two five-pointed stars with trails, as if they were shooting into the air. The curve of the trails intersected in such a way they appeared to be propelling into the sky like fireworks. The simple geometry sparked within me a vision for an Olympic-style cauldron: three pillars - in the shape of the stars' trails - supporting that iconic Olympic "eternal" flame. The image echoed the longevity of not only the games, but the remarkable athletes that defy the odds and participate in the competition.
