Kill Joy's family is originally from and partly based in the archipelago known as the Philippines and partly in Texas. Kill Joy's work sits at the intersection where jungle meets desert. Her art practice interprets world mythology and ancient symbolism to highlight issues in the struggle for environmental and social justice. Kill Joy is the co-founder alongside Rebo of Kitchen Table, a print shop and puppet studio based in Houston, Texas where she maintains a practice in printmaking, painting and puppet making.
