Austin, TX

I am a Texan. The independent spirit of Tex-ceptionalism started in my family with my great grandfather who owned a café on the square in San Marcos. My grandfather was a graduate of Southwest Texas State around the same time as LBJ. He went on to own the Greyhound station and serve as mayor. His second wife, my step-grandmother, was the first mermaid at Aquarena Springs. My father was an Air Force colonel so, I lived a lot of places before getting to Texas. Theater was my art form for many years. Throughout my education, I acted in, designed, produced and directed theater. While getting my BA in theater at UT Austin, I got interested sculpture. I built a business around sculpture fabrication and helped produce notable landmarks such as the relief sculptures on the Bob Bullock Texas State History museum and the giant Aggie ring at the alumni center on Texas A&M campus. My career took me to Texas Parks and Wildlife where I manage the production of exhibits for our 85 state parks. Every day I get to help tell the stories of our cultural and natural resources. I love Texas and I’m proud to be a Texan.
