Ruhee Maknojia Dhukka, born in Houston in 1993, is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes painting, video, conceptual art, drawing, and more. Her artworks have been exhibited at the Subliminal Projects, Lenfest Center for the Arts, LeRoy Neiman Center for the Arts, Moody Center for the Arts, Asia Society Texas, and more. Within Bush Intercontinental Airport is one of her acrylic paintings on canvas that measures six feet high and eight feet wide. It shows a series of irregular shapes containing various patterns in different colors, such as zebra prints, tessellations, plants and flowers, camouflage, Paisley, and more. As well, purple lines zig zag throughout the piece like a chart while a blue river-like design divides the artwork into three portions, creating imagery of land and economies. Dhukka said the painting is: “…constructed using patterns inspired from various cultures and heritages. It considers how motifs from textile traditions can transcend borders and their places of origin to create new landscapes and take on new meanings.”

Adentro del Aeropuerto Intercontinental Bush se encuentra una de sus pinturas acrílicas sobre lienzo, la cual mide seis pies de alto por ocho pies de ancho. Muestra una serie de formas irregulares que contienen diversos patrones en distintos colores, tales como estampado de cebra, teselados, plantas y flores, camuflaje, diseño de cachemir, y más. Asimismo, unas líneas púrpuras serpentean en zigzag a lo largo de la obra a modo de gráfico, mientras que un diseño azul, semejante a un río, divide la pieza en tres secciones, evocando imágenes de territorios y economías. Dhukka dijo que la pintura está: “...construida a partir de patrones inspirados en diversas culturas y herencias. Reflexiona sobre cómo los motivos de las tradiciones textiles pueden trascender las fronteras y sus lugares de origen para crear nuevos paisajes y adquirir nuevos significados.”
