Born in 1993 in Houston, TX, Ruhee Maknojia received her MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University, New York in 2019 and a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas, Austin, TX in 2016. Her work has been exhibited at various institutions and galleries, including the Lenfest Center for the Arts in New York City (2019), Asia Society Texas (2022), and Anya Tish Gallery in Houston, TX (2023).
Maknojia has participated in numerous residencies over the years, such as the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture (2024), A.I.R. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2024), and Artist on Site at Asia Society Texas (2022).
She is a recipient of several awards and grants, most notably the Roy Crane Award (2016) and the Idea Fund Grant (2023), administered by DiverseWorks, Aurora Picture Show, and Project Row Houses and funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
