American Needlepoint Guild - The Lone Star Chapter (Est. 1979 - Present) About the Lone Star Chapter of ANG: It all started at a needlepoint class taught by Marjorie Littlejohn in October 1979. One of the guests at the class was Margaret Matthews, who would soon be attending the ANG annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina. She told the members of the class about ANG, and by December 11, 1979, the Lone Star Chapter was chartered with twenty-six members meeting during the day. The first night meetings of Lone Star started in April 1980 and continue to the current day.

The Lone Star Chapter holds the distinction of being the largest chapter in Texas and one known for its community service, with stitched projects benefiting Houston's historical homes and museums, recognizing the Sesquicentennial Celebration of Houston's founding, and the National Wildlife Research Center in Austin, Texas.

Our members have held National and Regional offices, and hosted three National seminars; two in Houston, Texas, and one in San Antonio, Texas. Our sole objective and purpose is education and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint. Along the way, we develop lasting friendships and have a great time. We would love to have you join us!
