Emery A. Filleau (1855 - 1935) was active/lived in Texas, Kansas. Emery Filleau is known for Landscape, western, horses, and children.
Landscape painter and teacher Emery A. Filleau, 1855-1935, was born in New York City. He studied there, later teaching in Kansas City, Missouri, and then before 1900 moved to Houston where in 1929, he opened an art gallery. He also pursued fine art painting and teaching. Filleau died in Houston and is buried there. His work is in the collections of the Houston public schools, and the San Jacinto; Museum of History, La Porte, Texas.
Emery Filleau exhibited in the Annual Houston Artists Exhibition in 1926 and 1930.
Artifacts of his earlier life around 1900 in Kansas City, Missouri -- letters and photos are available in the Kansas City Public Library.
