Jenny Guarino has always loved making things and the challenge of problem solving that goes with creating something unique. Her working career began as a scientific programmer at the Bureau of Meteorology in Australia. A millennial ahead of her time, a software engineer heavily involved in new technology and changing jobs frequently, she pursued her other passion through evening art classes. She also participated in public art, creating a large found object sculpture “Animalz” for downtown Midland, MI. After raising a family, moving from Australia to Hong Kong to the USA, Jenny switched careers to a full-time artist, completing a Fine Art diploma. A frequent flyer, she used the iPad to capture quickly and exactly the colors and shapes she was seeing, using these as inspiration for abstract acrylic paintings. This work was accepted into multiple shows, including a National Juried show and a solo show. In 2017 Jenny discovered fluid art, and still inspired by her iPad drawings but using her hands to apply and pour paint, enjoying the mixture of planning and unpredictability. Jenny works out of her Houston studio, completing commission works, teaching fluid art and exploring new techniques to share her view of the world.
