Michael Sean Kirby was born in Milford Connecticut in 1967. His formal studies in the arts began at Texas Christian University, then the University of Texas at Austin, and ultimately achieving a Masters Degree in Sculpture - with honors - from the Academia de San Carlos located in Mexico City. Kirby’s artwork has been shown around the USA and in Mexico, including the University Pinacoteca Alfonso Michel, Contemporary Art Museum – Houston, Sculpture Month Houston – Rudolph Blume, The Big Show Lawndale, and Zoya Tommy Gallery. In 2010, he founded The Sculpture Workshop, and has worked with hundreds of students, expanding the sculptural experience for others. He currently resides in Houston, Texas, with his daughter, and continues teaching and making art.
