Victor Salmones was born in Mexico City in 1937. As a young student in elementary school he learned to use children's modeling clay and would later take all of the art courses that he could. After graduation from high school, he took a job with the Mexican Offices of Union Carbide until he was able to save enough money to attend the lnstituto de Bellas Artes. It was at the university that he was discovered by the famous Bauhaus master, Hoffman, who became Salmones' mentor. His works can be seen throughout the United States ,as well as, Mexico, South America and Switzerland.
